Off Site vs. On Page SEO
SEO Strategy Needed To Succeed Online
Before I get into which SEO type is better then the other (Off Page or Off Site) I would like to talk about a fact that is glazed over in the argument of which is better: The Need For A SEO Strategy.
Building a successful website requires a SEO strategy that is complete and includes all the different aspects that come with search engine optimization. You need ot pay attention to what works and doesn’t work when it comes to SEO.
SEO Comes In 2 Forms
SEO comes in two distinct and different forms:
- On Page SEO
- Off-Site SEO
Can They Work Together?
Since there are two different forms of SEO people have argued over which is better for a long time. Increasingly however the focus has shifted to ‘Can they work together?’ and that is the focus of today’s article.
I will be going over the each one and I will point out their differences, advantages, have a little ‘fighting match’ and give my opinion on which one reigns supreme over the other.

If you’re in the process of improving your site and content’s SEO and don’t know which method will work the best then this article is for you.
Follow along and at the end come to your own thoughts and conclusions regarding both aspects of the SEO question.
On Page SEO = Old School
First Major Difference
On Page SEO is the ‘old school’ way of search engine optimization and has been around since the beginning of the internet.
It is a tried and true way to succeed online because it relies on the creator solely to improve the SEO overtime.
This is the first major difference as Off-Site SEO relies on Google getting ‘feedback’ from other sources to help rank your site and content.
On Page SEO Relies On ‘Spiders;
The major thing that makes On Page so successful is that it relies on ‘Spiders’ to succeed. More importantly Google spiders, they crawl around all of the content and index the content.
The easier the navigation for the spiders the easier the content is to rank. The harder the navigation the more likely the spiders will make indexing mistakes.
Each Search Engine Protocol Is Different
Google is the most common search engine to use ‘spiders’ but all of the search engines use ‘crawlers’ and each have their own separate protocol when it comes to indexing and ranking. this can lead to delay or mistakes made in indexing because there is no uniform standard out of Google.
Improvement Confided To Site
To improve the On Page SEO the content creator typically stays within the website and optimizes it through several ways.
The improvements can be lasting and effective, but Google does not solely rank SEO based on On Page SEO anymore.
On Page SEO does help your succeed and to learn why it helps please read ‘On Page: SEO Basics‘ article.
Where On Page SEO can not go Off Site SEO can go…
Off Site SEO = Likeability Is King
Connect With Your Niche
With off Site SEO the main focus is connecting with your niche or group via social media and forums. Within these Social Media Accounts you would put your name, your business (brand) name and you would contribute ‘useful’ content.
Outside Opinions Matter to Google
When Google is ranking you based on Off Site SEO the ‘opinions’ aka Backlinks play a major rule in location and rank within Google’s pages.
Reliable and ‘authoritative’ sites over time develop ‘trustworthy’ links that cause Google to rank higher their content and site
‘Hang With Your Friends’
One great way to connect with you niche or group is find out where they ‘hang out’ online. Research Forums, Reddit, and other social media outlets & ask to join. Upon joining thank the group and contribute content only posts for the 3-5 times.
Introduce Links, Build Traffic
Over time introduce links within your content into the forums, Reddit, twitter and so on. These links will build traffic overtime. The best policy is to keep the post mainly about content, ask questions, & comment on other’s content.
Overtime by providing content with just a few links natural backlinks will be formed from the ‘hang areas’ to your website.
Once that happens your SEO will continue to improve and traffic will come as long you can contribute relevant content that is engaging

Off Site vs. On Page SEO: Which Reigns Supreme?
Time for the big fight: Off Site SEO vs. On Page SEO, who will come out on top, we’ll see at the end of the 3 Rounds.
On Page Is Here To Stay
Unless you have an established website you have to use ‘On Page SEO’ to set up your website and get it ‘SEO Ready’.
Not only is it here to stay it is a requirement for serious competitors of ‘the game’. It truly makes the difference between a successful site and a failed site.
Off Site: Off Influencing
In order to ‘get ranked’ you have to have some authority, some ‘influence’ which is where Off Site SEO comes in handy. By simply ‘hanging with your niche’ in the forums, social media and sites you can create influence through your content and links.
Overtime influence alone will be even able to create natural backlinks to your site. As long as you’re engaging your niche with quality content and quality comments your site will rank accordingly.

On Page SEO: On Point With Content
On Page SEO revolves around creating unique and engaging content that ‘on point’ both in quality and in length.
The longer the content is the higher the opportunity for high rankings within your niche.
Originality of content can drive a mass amount of traffic that could takes months or even years to achieve using ‘backlinks’ and forum posting.
Content is created around the belief of ‘Length Is Strength’.
Off Site: Real Time Content
By joining Social Media groups, circles, chats and contributing useful and engaging content you are able to create ‘Real Time Content’ that could end up with natural ‘backlinks’ back to your site.
You are able to create raw, ‘unedited’ content that itself can not only create high traffic volumes, it can also create high sale volumes as well.

On Page: Time & Space
Off Site SEO requires daily work to keep ‘the juice’ flowing which means if there is a an interruption in content feedback could turn negative.
If that turns negative, Google reviews it and decides your fate.
Where as with On Page SEO the passage of time is actually encouraged to a great extent. The main reasons are ‘time to rank’ for keywords’ and effective keyword research. On Page SEO over time brings in stead, organic traffic that searches for a certain keyword a certain number of times daily.
With the right research and affiliate placement On Page can drive massive amounts of traffic within a few months, and continue to keep that pace for years on end. This has been proven over and over again.
Without the ‘old school’ there would be no ‘New School Of ‘off site seo’ ‘
Off Site, Off Getting Results
What takes On Page hours to do, can be done in as little as a few minutes. When you’ve been commenting for a while on within your social circles you can begin to pick up quickly what will be ‘consumed’ and what will be rejected.
This allows you to cater your site content directly towards your niche. If the goal of content is ‘length is strength’, content exceeding 2,000 words could be written in a discussion in less then an hour. The content would be ‘fresh’ and therefore relevant based on PRESENT engagement that is observed by Google.
Once you have present engagement you can control the flow of conversation. If you have enough content to keep up in the conversation you can generate more focus and potential backlinks.
One conversation can cause a flood of traffic and backlinks that can lead to steady traffic for years and it could only take as little as 20-30 minutes.
The conversation can be turned into ‘fresh’ content following the ‘length is strength’ rule.

‘Can They Work Together?’
Now that the ‘fight’ is over for now, the next question that has to be answered is:
‘Can They Work Together?’
Let’s see what they can do if they where used together.
(1) Both Raise SEO Rankings
The one thing that people do agree on is that each of the types of SEO can raise a sites SEO along with the a higher rank in the content in general.
- On Site raises SEO by providing content that is fresh, unique, lengthy, and engaging.
- Off Site raises SEO by getting high quality natural backlinks while actively engaging your niche community via social media.
(2) Both Can Create Traffic Overtime
Over time both types of SEO can drive traffic that can lead to a conversion with On Page relying on organic traffic through keyword research. While Off Site SEO when your in social groups you will get organic traffic, but you can control certain aspects of it with careful and courteous engagement.
(3) Both Can Provide Outstanding Content
Both types have the ability to produce outstanding content in different ways and under different terms, but the end result is the same: High quality content.
They Can Both Be Used to Succeed
That is why it is so important to understand both types of SEO and how they work. Without knowing each of them it will be hard to come up with a sound ‘SEO Strategy’.

My final thoughts on Off Site vs On Page SEO: Who Reigns Supreme, I have to say that both of them if used together effectively can make your site succeed. That being said I am more inclined to use On Page techniques personally.
I just find it easier to do and less stressful to do then to engage with an ever changing audience. However I have found success using both and will continue to use both until an ‘Google Update’ renders them ‘obsolete’.
